5. Break them in. Before you take your shoes on their first walk, wear them around the house for a few days to break them in. This way you can be sure that you really like the way they feel and that they are comfortable and you want to keep them. Because if you don't wear them outside, they won't get all scuffed up and you be able to return them and exchange them for something that will fit better.
